Pretzel Kids — Yoga Classes For Kids

The Problem

Anxiety among kids is a crisis and has spiked during the COVID pandemic. Yoga would be a perfect resource, but is difficult for schools and parents to find and enroll their kids in classes run by qualified yoga instructors for children.

What The Company Does

Pretzel Kids is the only branded kids yoga company offering a one-stop web platform for educators, yogis, schools, and parents. Pretzel Kids is also the only children’s yoga company to offer a subscription-based program for teachers, offering a full suite of licensed resources including a proprietary curriculum. These tools help fitness enthusiasts and parents start successful, class-based kids yoga businesses in their local communities.

Market

Pretzel Kids is at the intersection of 3 growing converging markets. The yoga market in the U.S. hit $11.6B in 2020, while the youth recreation market reached $19.2B in 2019. Finally, the online education market is $171B worldwide. Their competitors include other children’s yoga companies like Cosmic Kids and YogaEd, as well as mindfulness apps and online yoga studios.

Business Model

Pretzel Kids’ current business model includes a $999 training fee and a $79 monthly subscription. Corporate class bookings, camps, and fitness centers pay $400 to $1,000 per month for ongoing classes. They also have online partner platforms, where they collect 70% to 80% of class revenues.

Traction

Pretzel Kids has significant traction as of early 2021. The team has sold more than 500 online Pretzel Kids training courses and 85 memberships since the launch of the program 18 months ago. They are running more than 100 classes, virtually and in-person. In addition, the team has several new partners including: GoNoodle, Outschool, Kid Pass and Ompractice. Founder Robyn Parets participated in The Capital Network’s female founder cohort in 2020-2021.

Founding Team Background

Founder Robyn Parets is a yoga industry veteran and sought-after speaker/writer in the yoga industry. She was a former financial journalist and content strategist with NerdWallet and Chime bank. She is joined by Joel Lehrer, an IP attorney at Goodwin Law and tech industry expert; Tina Taylor, a full-stack engineer; and Abigail MacKenzie, a social media manager and brand designer.

The Ask

The team is looking for intros to advisors, angel investors, mentors, potential customers, and partners in the edtech and wellness space. They are also interested in meeting a customer acquisition and sales expert. Connect with the Pretzel Kids team.
